(Washington)- On Tuesday the Justice Department announced that there was a crack down of nearly 1700 child sex predators after a two month investigation.

The investigation nicknamed “Broken Heart,” lead prosecutors to uncover more than 300 people who were producing child pornography or committing sex abuse involving a child.

Attorney General William Barr vowed to bring “the full force of the law against sexual predators.”

According to officials the crack down targeted suspects who tried to entice children for sex online, traveled to other states or countries with the intent of abusing a child, engaged in sex trafficking, or produced or in possession of child pornography.

A recent article titled “The Essence of Evil: Sex with Children has Become Big Business,” details how the average age of child that predators are seeking to abuse is 13-years-old.

The sale of children and sex with children has been classified as a epidemic. According to sources it has become bigger than drug trafficking and the selling of illegal guns.
