Mayor Bottoms made it a mandate that all Atlanta residents are to wear mask out in public as the COVID-19 cases have began to spike drastically in her city.
It is reported that more than 3100 Georgia residents have died from the notorious Coronavirus and more than 106,000 have tested positive among them Mayor Bottoms herself had positive test results.
Kemp’s stance is mask are not required as it is hurting businesses and causing employees to not have jobs.
In a lawsuit filed by Brian Kemp on Thursday the document asserts that Mayor Bottoms does not have the “legal authority to modify change or ignore,” Governor Kemp’s executive order pertaining to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.
It also specifies that Kemp by himself ” leads the state of Georgia” in the fight against this virus that has take the world by storm.

Many are outraged at the stance the Govern is taking by stating he is wasting tax payers dollars by suing the city he could instead join in on the fight by taking those same dollars and ensuring every resident of the state has a mask to wear.
According to sources Mayor Bottoms isn’t the only one mandating mask but is the only one being sued. Other cities in Georgia have taken similar steps to protect their citizens. Mayor Van Johnson of Savannah Georgia stated on twitter, ” It is officially official. Governor Kemp does not give a damn about us. Every man and woman for himself/herself. Ignore the science and survive the best you can.”
In a conference that Mayor Bottoms conducted on Thursday she disputed Kemp stating that her policies were “unenforceable” by stating that they are and by also shedding light that anyone out in public can help to drastically curve the spread of this virus by following experts guidelines of wearing a mask while out in public.
