#1. Drink Plenty of water!

This one seems pretty obvious but you’d be surprised to know how many people don’t actually drink enough water during the day. To be safe, you should follow the 8 by 8 rule which states that you should drink eight 8-ounce glasses of fluid a day.

#2. Avoid eating hot foods

Eating hot foods during the summer only heighten the intensity of the heat. Try cooler foods like salads, sandwiches, etc.

#3. Get a portable fan

There are all type of portable fans one of the coolest ones has a water mist built in.

#4.  Exercise comfortably

Sign up for a gym membership and avoid exercising in the heat. But if that’s not something that is possible, then there are alternative exercises such as swimming and various other water sports that can definitely get the job done.

#5.  Wear Light Colors

Darker colors will absorb the sun’s heat and stay warmer longer than light or white clothing, which reflects light and heat. And speaking of what to wear–ditch the socks and shoes and don some flip flops if you can–the feet are one of the body parts that tend to overheat.

#6. Turn off all heat sources

Turn off stoves and utilize crock pots. Try using fluorescent lamps or LED lamps if possible

#7. Run cold water over your wrists

Running cold water over both of wrists will help take your body temperature down for one hour

#8. Frozen Fan

Fill a big bowl with ice and place it in front of a fan. The cool air will circulate around the room, lowering the temperature.

#9. Frozen Towels

Take a couple of wash cloths and soak them in water. Squeeze out the excess water and roll them. Lay them in a cookie sheet, placing them in the freezer afterwards. Let the towels freeze till they are solid for a couple of hours. You can also add essential oils in the water mix for a more relaxing experience.

#10. Frozen Fruit Ice Cubes

Fill an ice cube tray with your favourite fruit. Pour water to the top and freeze it for a couple of hours. You can add it to your water for a soft, fruity flavour or just suck on the cubes.
